Becoming the best me I can be

Tye-Dye Nails

If you haven’t realized it yet from my posts (or I just haven’t been posting enough yet), I love to go all out. I am a very enthusiastic person and when I do something, I go for it. So when it came to Relay this weekend, I was going all out. Tye-dye was the theme I was going for so I decided to tye-dye my fingernails as well. I already had tye-dyed shirts for myself, Hubby, Peanut, and my mother-in-law. Now it was time to continue the tye-dye. I found an awesome tye-dye nail tutorial here and used it to do my own nails. Here are some pictures of the process!

I painted my nails a base coat of opaque white. Then I put tape around my nails to make it less messy (I didn't do it for the other hand though)

Add drops of the nail polish colors you want to use. Make sure they don't touch.

Fold the plastic in half and light press to make the colors mix. Don't press too much or the colors will over blend.

See how the colors mix nicely to look tye dyed. Take the plastic and lay it gently on your nails. Try not to move it or the colors will smear.

I also painted Peanut and my toenails purple!

I just love how my nails came out. Peanut has loved looking at her toes now that they are purple. Too cute!

  2. Very cute! I’ve done this before with the water technique, but found myself a little too impatient to prepare and do it properly haha. But I’ve never thought of using plastic pieces like that. Cool stuff!

    • I had tried the water technique last year and it turned out terrible and I ruined a dish haha! I hadn’t thought of it either until I saw the video in the link. You would think we would have thought of that first LOL
